Dan’s View

I am by nature a hermit. Whenever I am I’ll, tired or generally just in that mood I tend to go into my personal cocoon. I don’t answer my phone or the door, I just tend to exist. Now I’ve been working from home the past two days due to being Ill and I was ignoring all the phone stuff and it seems I came across as ignoring on of my friends, well I wasn’t; in fact I was ignoring everyone.
Not sure if I should be going to work I’m still coughing like a crazy mad person…
Just at Acton Town, finally a seat, damn it’s cold. The again I might be weak due to illness and feeling the cold.

I find myself being stuck in a paranoia about my music volume level as I travel. The idea. came from a conversation in the pub last night. Not that I am saying it is their fault. Just I enjoy that discussion, and understanding differing views.
Even though I am in this paranoia I am still listening to my music loud. I am sure that people notice, it’s not I am trying to annoy them, it is to make the journey my own; I have very loud music. I can see some eyes watching me at this very moment. LoL, anyway nearly finished on the Jubilee so who know what occurs next?

Normally I write a post, re-read for safety/privacy the post up when back on a computer with inets. But today re-read with purpose, and re-understood myself. It’s a very hard epiphany to describe. Not in the religious context, more one of self discovery and observance, should that really be self analysis? Probably both. That is pritty much what was in my noddle for the last 15 mins. Nearly ready to change at Green Park. Then drinking till late in the evening/morning.. See you on the other side.

Let us hope that the don’t fall through!

Tonight will be starting in my local for a few bevies, the meet a friend who’s on his way to Cambridge. Then into town for some late night drinking, dacin’ and chatting. Am heading to the Corenet in Elephant and Castle with some friends that I haven’t seen in a few months. I think it’s gonna be fun.

Oh and today work was busy, frustrating and a little chaotic. Thank silicon I’m not working this weekend, I’m sure it’s gonna be painful…

So nearly back to Ealing, time to make final arrangements…

Head, ache, fuzz! Had a pleasureable evening at my local chatted to some randoms, I always do.

That sentance was written this morning on the way to work. I was fuzz then. I am now before fuzz, well I am on my way home post beer consumption but before the fuzz of tomorrow morning has occurred.

People are. I was going to say interesting but then realise two words describes it perfectly. We all observe this world from blinkered views, attempt to empathise but generally fail miserably. We try to understand, I tend to think that we can only understand something if we have expirenced something similar. Most of the time we fail. Not that I’m saying we don’t try, we do. The basis of this last paragraph of waffle is that I sent an email today attempting to partially resolve an issue. But it was slightly pointless, I can never understand the secenaro as the recipent can. Therefore they will never get the message I wanted to communicate. Well that is partially ‘language’ fault, due to the disparate nature of our thoughts versus how we can pick/choose the words to communicate what we are thinking. But maybe over time and different selections of sentances the message could be understood.

So due to my shift lasting 7 days last week I have taken Monday and yesterday off. I did virtually nothing, lazed around at home. Well I did go to the local shop twice. And I installed my work laptop with Linux, just how ‘geek’ does that make me….

Due to my laziness over the weekend I haven’t updated Twitter/Facebook Status in a few days, this caused a semi-joke SMS from a friend asking if I had been banned for over usage, and checking I was alright. I had to laugh out loud when I read it, cause I know that people can and do find my frequent updates annoying, but then this is an example of someone who likes them. The answer is, you can never please everyone, and you know what; I really don’t care. For me it actually is therapeutic reasons, it helps me to vent as do these blog posts, well the ones that are not technical.

So currently on the long non-stop stretch of the Piccadilly in between Acton Town and Hammersmith, back on the Soul Tech mix. Boh!

So today has been a hung over, slept on the sofa by accident day. Worked my shift which was mainly calm nothing as chaotic as yesterday! Chatted to a few friends which was nice, even my mum for once! At the moment I’ve taken myself for a jaunt around town. Needed to get out of the flat and do something! Still I have no real aim brought the camera along with me in case of any decent views or things. We’ll seen, this train is about to terminate, so up to ground level for me.

Got to ground level and someone called who I was trying to meet, so heading north now. I’m annoyed someone else who lives around where I’m heading appears to have lost their phone and I have no way of contacting them. Been wanting to chat to them as we always have good conversation.

Stuck listening to that Soul Tech mix, it’s great.

So hopefully an old work friend will call in a bit and we’ll have drinks in my local,  not seen them in quite a while.

So that was a nice visit to see a friend. We had a good chat, tea and gaming. Heading back home. Currently listening to Spinns show from the end of last month.

So bus section completed. Joy! Currently sitting on the tube, pondering life the universe and games. Gonna play some when I’m home.

On shift again tomorrow so up at before 7am tomorrow, going to go out with a friend afterwords; well I’m in a state of indecision as to whom I go and meet, but I think I have made up my mind partially and then I’ll take Monday off.. A Monday off is great, laziness at home. Time to walk off the train.

All home testing out new firefox beta, so far so good. Seems quicker in handling the JS side of things.

Time for some games me thinks.

What has the last couple of days been like? Interesting, to say the least.

Work has been chaos busy, especially today; maintenance at the start of my shift, therefore cleanup after and then massive egress drops in the realm of 8GB. NOT my fault, but still chaos.

Yesterday I met with an old friend whom I havn’t seen in over 2 years, wow. We met and we fell back into chatting, I find it so easy to discuss things with them. It really was nice. So we ended up eating, drinking and chatting till 2am. It was a little weird at the start but I cannot impress upon you that it was so easy. We just kinda gel.

I paused writing this post last night as I was interrupted by a person, whom with I had a good chat. Then eventually I was met by two friends from my old work. We had fun. I now wake and warm myself to working, I’m on shift today 08:00 till 16:00. Still I will have a lazy monday who knows about sunday
evening…

I havn’t checked my work email yet, but I really hope it’s in a better state than yesterday. At the moment I have no more to say; I’m sure I did at the beginning of writing this, but it’s either been vented or forgotten.

Time for toast.

So I did some more searching and came accross a patch for 2.6.26 that I have modified to work with 2.6.27.

So I said I would do it and here is is. The current and as I update it kernel configuration for the eee PC 901.

I currently have NOT got the ethernet or bluetooth working, I actually havn’t even started to get the bluetooth working, but ethernet doesn’t seem to want to work. If anyone has any ideas, then hit me up!
